Entertainment Analytics Conference

Audience Strategies co-founded the Entertainment Analytics Conference in 2016 and has helped organise it ever since.

Since 2016

The conference was founded in Los Angeles in August 2016 with Carnegie Mellon University and Chapman University. The United Kingdom series began at The Lowry, Salford in January 2017.

Twelve editions took place across Los Angeles, Marina del Rey, Salford and Manchester between 2016 and 2026. The most recent edition was held on 10th and 11th September 2026 at MediaCityUK, Salford.

How it works

Attendance is by invitation only. Each edition brings together around thirty to sixty senior data and analytics people from broadcasters, streamers, publishers, music, games and academia.

David Boyle co-chairs the conference. It runs under the Chatham House Rule. Talks are shared and attributed only by sector.

Why it matters to Audience Strategies

We are in it to share and to learn. Each year we bring what we have found in our own work on audience data, analytics and language models, and we hear what thirty or forty practitioners have found in theirs. Their thinking fuels ours, and ours fuels theirs.

The room has become a community. People come back year after year, compare notes between editions, and test ideas on each other that would never survive a conference stage. That is the point of the format, and it is why we keep organising it.
